WHO has received over 500 submissions to the Public Hearings on the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control to be held 12-13 October. All valid submissions were posted on the web site and all submitters were invited to make a verbal testimony. Over 170 organizations have indicated their intention to make a verbal testimony before the hearings panel. The order of testimony was decided by drawing a lot in the presence of legal counsel and witnesses to ensure fairness to all participants. The letter picked was "X." Since there were no organizations wishing to speak under the alphabet "X" or "Y" the list of speakers starts with the alphabet "Z" and continues in alphabetical order.
