Tobacco Dollars Have Takers
09/07/99
(INDIANAPOLIS) -- When the General Assembly reconvenes this January, one of its missions will be to decided how to spend four billion dollars worth of tobacco money over the next 25 years.
That's Indiana's share of the tobacco settlement money and there is already a long list of recipients claiming to be deserving of some funding. Indiana ranks third in the country in smoking and a doctor's group says all of the money should go to teaching students and adults about the harm caused by tobacco.
