Latest in Mobile Telecom Solution: Quitting Smoking

SK Telecom, a leading cell phone operator, said it has launched a wireless hypnotism service to help people quit smoking via mobile phone image downloading.
The service, developed by a little-known wireless content provider, Bizbrain, offers various hypnosis snapshots to encourage users to quit smoking.
By downloading the image on mobile phones, smokers can be hypnotized when flipping open mobile phones, allowing them to quit smoking in a natural way.
Image downloading via wireless handsets is hugely popular in Korea, which boasts the most sophisticated mobile phone users in the world.
Experts said hypnosis is applicable to quit smoking, lose weight or gain confidence, because it communicates directly with people's subconscious mind, allowing them to get the message across to the part of their brains.
Because the wireless hypnosis images work with the subconscious mind in smokers, the method helps them to change habits that were holding them back, Bizbrain said in its website.
"It's difficult for smokers to quit," Bizbrain said. "The service provides answers while offering smokers convenient and time-saving treatment."
"Since hypnosis require no drugs, it is the healthiest method of quitting, making it even easier and more reliable," the company said.
The service is currently available for SK Telecom users, which have signal codes of 011 and 017, but the content operator said it would expand the coverage for KTF and LG Telecom customers soon.
Korea already leads the world in wireless Internet technology and applications after launching the world's first commercial CDMA2000 1X service, which became widely available early last year.
The 1X network allows users to gain Internet access, send and receive e-mails, see moving images of who they are talking to, take photographs with their handset and play electronic games.
