07/01/99
The Department of Health of Washington State today named members of the newly formed Tobacco Prevention and Control Council.
The council will recommend how to spend $100 million in tobacco settlement funds for a statewide program to reduce tobacco use. The council's recommendations will be used by Health to develop a statewide program to reduce tobacco use. Health will present the program to the state Legislature this December, and begin carrying out the program early next year.
