Tobacco Control: A Guide for State Decision-Makers", a live
interactive satellite broadcast at several hundred locations
across the co
This live interactive broadcast will promote CDC's Office on Smoking and Health's recommendation that States establish tobacco control programs that are comprehensive, sustainable, and accountable.
Objectives
Staff members from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office on Smoking and Health (CDC-OSH), and State decision-makers will present this program:
- To provide a better understanding of the benefits of funding tobacco programs in your State;
- To share information on why a long-term commitment for State tobacco control programs is necessary and beneficial;
- To illustrate what States can expect to achieve by following CDC's Best Practices guidelines.
Target Audience
State health officials, State health department staff, board members
and staff of new State tobacco control foundations and commissions,
officials involved in State budget issues, Gubernatorial staff,
legislators and legislative staff, partner organizations, and community
participants.
