College Can Teach Students Not To Smoke

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A new study suggests college campuses can do more than teach class, they can teach people not to smoke.
A review of 14 studies finds anti-smoking campaigns on campus can successfully change attitudes and reduce tobacco use among college students.
Researchers found a comprehensive approach was the most successful including interventions such as no-smoking zones, anti-tobacco advertisements and smoke restricted dormitories.
Researchers say it's important to help college age people stop smoking because they are often targeted by the tobacco industry.
