Another Oregon Town May Become Smoke-Free

Voters may get to decide whether smoking is banned in Albany workplaces.

The Linn County Tobacco Free Coalition is proposing two anti-tobacco initiatives to be voted on next spring, KOIN 6 News reports. One ordinance would ban smoking in all workplaces except for bars. The other would restrict youth access to tobacco products in stores. KOIN says that the coalition is trying to get approval from the City Council to start a petition drive to put the initiatives on the ballot.
